Roby started cooking barbecue, despite having a career in law. Her father's dream of her opening a barbecue restaurant inspired her, so she decided to take up the challenge. Roby took a course in barbecue cooking with celebrity pitmaster Harry Soo. In the end, Roby became a certified pitmaster. She was soon working in a BBQ restaurant.


Her passion for barbecue began as a hobby and she eventually became obsessed with BBQ. At first, she made barbecue dishes from her back porch. Later, she competed in barbecue contests across the nation, cooking alongside world-famous pitmasters. She has also opened several pop ups in Dayton and Ohio. She hopes to eventually open a food truck.

The Food Network BBQ Team Brawl's third season will see two of the most renowned chefs around the world team up to fight for the title of best griller. Anne Burrell, Jet Tila and Bobby Flay will face off in a dinner party brawl sure to be memorable. Matt Roth, a favorite of "BBQ Brawl", returns to the Austin-based Smokin Beauty along with his wife Thao.

Ann advised the contestants what they should make, while Jet and Team Bobby let the participants choose. As a result, Team Bobby failed to make his ceviche. This time Team Anne has an advantage. Anne even leapt down on Team Bobby's throat while he was reaching to get an ingredient.

As with all Food Network competitions, the new season of BBQ Team Brawl features some familiar faces. Lee Ann Whippen has been competing in barbecuing over 23 years and will serve as Team Anne's judge. She is also the managing partner of Deviled Pig in Tampa and a judge for the Kansas City Barbecue Society. She has won multiple state and world barbecue championships and has starred on TV shows like BBQ Pitmasters and Throwdown with Bobby Flay.


Flay, Symon and others fought for the best BBQ sandwich. Lee Ann chose a traditional approach to the sandwich while Susie chose an exotic one. While her pork belly bam mi was bold and delicious, the judges disagreed. Team Anne's burger tasted great and was well-baked.
